The Berthold foundry would produce various Bodonian redesigns: a first, in 1970, by Günther Gerhard Lange, which is the new version of the lead Bodoni Antiqua; and a second, in 1983, again the work of Lange. This last redesign would be called Old Face and would have noteworthy success; it closely adopted the philological idea in the general aspect of the typeface and, at the same time enhanced the series with variants including bold and regular as well as numerous upper and lower case letters. There would be a further redesign of Bodonian typefaces for Berthold at the end of the eighties made by Karl Gestner.
